Fall 2010 in-house registration is open!  The deadline for registering is August 16 and the first games of the season will be held Saturday, September 11.  Click here to go to the on-line registration site.

The dates of the season are September 11^th through November 6^th. We will have off the weekend of October 9^th, Columbus Day weekend. All games will be played on Saturdays in the morning.  The U10 age group may a game or two that run just after 12, noon. In-House schedules should be available next week.

The In House Skill Clinics will be held on Wednesday evenings. The Skills Clinics will focus on technical training, critical aspects of player development, progressive speed and agility, foot skills, 1v1, and finishing techniques. There will be small sided games for the last 10 to 15minutes of each session. Dates, times and location to be posted soon.

GISA’s Miles for Money Fundraiser

All of the proceeds raised will go directly to the player and their expenses for the season. Checks should be made to GISA and delivered to the coach or team manager by August 20^th.

This week GISA’s Technical/Tactical training sessions begin.  The sessions will be specifically for the travel teams & spread throughout the season. The focus of these practices will be on technical and tactical development, which will improve overall game skills.  This is a big movement that is being implemented in US soccer, the addition of a third practice day in a week.  The US Soccer Federation wants our youth soccer teams to have a 3 to 1 training to play ratio. These sessions will be a move in that direction for our club.

Lee has been a part of the Golden Isles Soccer Association for over 20 years.  He started as a player 22 years ago and has coached for the club the past ten years.  He attended college at Augusta State University where and was a member of the Jaguars soccer team. Since graduating from college, he coached high school soccer at Glynn Academy for the past nine years.  Recently, he has developed a speed, strength, and agility training program, which he has shared with many athletes across the southeast involved in various sports.  The program not only improves players abilities in their specific sport, but more importantly, vastly improves their overall athleticism.  The response to his program has been tremendous and results seen by GISA as well as regional soccer players has been impressive.  Lee and his wife Christy, (a group fitness instructor), live on St. Simons.  Both of Lee’s children, Saige and Gavin, are involved in soccer as well.

Whether you have a 5-year old just starting out or a high school standout, Golden Isles Soccer at Jekyll Island has a program for your famly.

Inhouse Academy:  Recreational soccer for ages 4 through 12 with games exclusively at the Jekyll Island Complex primarily on Saturday mornings.   Most divisions are age and gender specific.

Travel Programs:  Our travel teams play primarily in the North Florida Youth Soccer League in Jacksonville, Savannah Rec League, or compete through Georgia Youth Soccer Association.  There are three levels of travel teams:

Academy:  An introduction to more competitive soccer for our U9-U12 players.

Recreation:  There are no tryouts and everyone makes a team

Select:  U13-U19 teams created through a competitve tryout process.

The club also hosts the very best players and teams from the entire Southeast (Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning)  for Region III Premier competition.  Come spend an afternoon watching these extraordinarily talented U14-U19 players.

The club also hosts multiple tournaments ranging from 3v3 to adult full-sided competition on our beautifully maintained fields.  Bring your team to one of these events to see for yourself why Jekyll Island is one of the best soccer complexes in the Southeast.
